Both archaic and delicate, GAIA-24. calls us to sing and dance for Mother Earth with string quartet and electric guitar, baroque and techno, all while asking the question: What is war doing to nature? After exploring nature’s reclamation of the former Chornobyl nuclear power plant in CHORNOBYLDORF, the Ukrainian composer duo Opera Aperta now presents GAIA-24., focussing on the consequences of the demolition of the Kakhovka Dam during Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
