Pia Syrbe
Pia Syrbe studied Musicology and Media Studies at the Humboldt University of Berlin and Production Dramaturgy for Music Theatre at the »Hanns Eisler« School of Music Berlin.
In the 2023/24 season, she worked as an assistant dramaturge at the Komische Oper Berlin. As part of her studies, she supervised productions such as Luisa Miller by Giuseppe Verdi and Mozart's Die Zauberflöte. Her most recent work includes a text version for a staged performance of the novel Gabriel by George Sand in co-operation with the Alte Musik Fest Friedenau and the staged concert späte_rückkehr with the junge norddeutsche philharmonie at the Babylon silent film cinema.
Numerous assistantships and internships have taken her to the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Theater Vorpommern and the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, among others. She was and is repeatedly involved as a dramaturge in various scenic choral projects under the musical direction of Tobias Walenciak.
In the 2024/25 season, she is engaged as production dramaturge for the world premiere of Die kleine Hexe (director: Martina Gredler) at the Komische Oper Berlin and is in charge of part of the seventh edition of the Neuen Szene in the Tischlerei of the Deutsche Oper Berlin under the direction of Anna Sofie Keller Brandsborg.
