Johannes Scherfling
Johannes Scherfling has worked in various positions in the lighting department at the Komische Oper Berlin for over 30 years. He has been a lighting inspector since 2018 and head of department since 2022.
He has worked on over 50 productions with international production teams and directors such as Harry Kupfer, Barrie Kosky, Robert Carsen and Stefan Herheim. He has also worked with stage designers such as Klaus Grünberg, Rufus Didwiszus and Hans Schavernoch.

He has worked nationally and internationally on projects in Japan, China, Norway, Israel, France and Scotland, among others.
In 2021, he collaborated with Komische Oper Berlin on the lighting design for the commissioned work Die Zaubermelodika (directed by Nicole C. Weber, set design by Friedrich Eggert) and Die Blume von Hawaii (scenic realisation by Esteban Muñoz).
