Sympo­si­um: Rausch&Reden

Heroic, critical, activist - the artists in Schall&Rausch 2025 not only bring bombastic beats and heart-warming songs to the stage, but also political statements. How can we escape human alienation and experience community? How can we use art to counter the crises of our time? Can imagination perhaps straighten out the world's imbalance? In the Pop&Politics panel, Gaye Su Akyol, celebrated Turkish pop musician and activist, and DJ Ipek İpekçİoğlu, heroine of the transcultural Berlin Nightlifes, will discuss these and other questions against the backdrop of the Erdoğan regime in Turkey. Following on from this, the Ukrainian composer duo Opera Aperta will discuss how art can be made at all during Putin's war of aggression in the Art & Crisis panel. Beforehand, Rainer Simon, Artistic Director, and Julia Jordà Stoppelhaar, moderator, will give an overview of the festival program and the considerations behind it.
