Symphony Concert
It’s the perfect date for Valentine’s Day: the orchestra of the Komische Oper Berlin playing magically romantic dance pieces by Manuel de Falla alongside Beethoven’s Eroica, the Third Symphony that conquers all hearts.
In two ballet works, de Falla distils the musical essence of the Andalusian soul. The Three-Cornered Hat tells the story of a miller’s wife who, along with her husband, mocks the local magistrate who’s fallen in love with her

El amor brujo is about the widow Candelas, who twirls with her lover in an attempt to exorcise the spirit of her dead husband, and dances into the arms of her friend Lucía with the famous/notorious Ritual Fire Dance. Meanwhile, in composing his Third Symphony, the Eroica, Beethoven laid the foundation for the great Classical/Romantic symphony: longer, more dynamic, and more monumental than ever before!
Marzena Diakun returns to the conductor’s podium with the orchestra of the Komische Oper Berlin, after her success in the 2023/24 concert season. Together, they are bringing de Falla’s and Beethoven’s masterpieces to life in the Vollgutlager: Who could resist falling in love with this music?
